Wealth Creation
In this lesson, pupils explore how words and images can be used to persuade people to buy or support something. They analyse different posters to understand how language and visuals influence feelings and decisions. Children then apply this knowledge by creating their own persuasive poster for the cake sale, using carefully chosen words and eye catching images to encourage others to take action.
This lesson supports the Year 1 National Curriculum for Mathematics by enabling pupils to apply mathematical understanding in real life buying and selling contexts, and to reason and justify choices related to pricing, value and attracting customers. Pupils consider how decisions influence outcomes and explain their thinking using simple financial reasoning.
This lesson supports PSHE objectives L13, L16 and L19 by helping pupils understand how communication can influence others, recognise responsible decision making when encouraging people to buy or support a cause, and reflect on how money can be used to contribute positively within a community.
