Money Awareness
In this lesson, pupils are introduced to the idea of using money to help others through charities and causes. They explore what a charity is, why people choose to donate, and how to decide who needs help most when money is limited. By comparing real organisations and considering impact and fairness, children begin to understand that money decisions are not just about what we want, but about making choices that do the most good.

PSHE:
This lesson supports the Year 1 National Curriculum for Mathematics by enabling pupils to solve number and practical problems involving limited amounts of money, and to reason mathematically when deciding how funds can be allocated fairly and effectively. Pupils justify their choices using simple evidence and explanation.
This lesson supports PSHE objectives L12, L19 and L20 by helping pupils understand fairness and responsibility when supporting others, recognise that money can be used to address needs and improve situations, and develop awareness of making thoughtful decisions that positively impact their community.
