In this lesson, pupils reflect on their cake sale project and learn why evaluation is an important part of making good money decisions. They look back at what worked well, what could be improved, and whether the money raised was worth the cost and effort. Through structured reflection, children recognise the financial skills they have developed, such as problem solving and decision making, and consider how they would improve their approach in the future.

PSHE:
This lesson supports the Year 1 National Curriculum for Mathematics by enabling pupils to reason mathematically when evaluating outcomes of a real money project, solve problems based on results, and develop data awareness by considering costs, money raised and overall impact. Pupils interpret information, reflect on results and use evidence to inform future financial decisions.
This lesson supports PSHE objectives L18, L19, L20, L21 and L22 by helping pupils reflect on the impact of financial decisions, understand responsibility and contribution within a community, recognise how thoughtful planning supports shared goals, and develop awareness of risk, consequences and improvement for the future.
