In this lesson, students see how every money choice shapes what a person or business can do next. Using examples of young entrepreneurs, they explore start-up budgets, needs versus temptations, and the impact of spending choices. They’ll think about ambition, creativity and realism in business while building practical financial vocabulary and teamwork skills.

PSHE:
This lesson supports the National Curriculum for Mathematics by enabling pupils to use ratio and proportion to compare lifestyle and business costs, allocate a limited budget, and evaluate how different spending decisions affect overall outcomes. Pupils apply proportional reasoning to balance fixed and flexible costs and justify financial planning decisions mathematically.
This lesson supports PSHE by helping pupils understand how to make responsible decisions when managing a limited budget, recognise the difference between needs, investments and temptations, and reflect on how financial choices shape future opportunities and outcomes. Pupils develop awareness of risk, self control and realistic planning in both personal and entrepreneurial contexts.
